Today, on the sidelines of the Dubrovnik Forum, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Nikos Dendias.
The two counterparts expressed satisfaction with the intensive political dialogue and the positive dynamics in bilateral relations, evidenced by the numerous official and working visits.
“We have a Strategic Partnership Agreement which we need to implement in a positive spirit and good will in order to provide a clear foundation for unobstructed communication of both citizens and businesses. There is no dilemma that by continuing the dialogue and mutual commitment to fulfilling obligations undertaken with the Prespa Agreement and the Action Plan for its implementation, significant additional opportunities are opened for promotion of the cooperation that continuously upgrades trust between the two neighbours and sets an example for good-neighbourly relations, friendship and partnership”, Minister Osmani said at the meeting.
The interlocutors particularly welcomed the development and progress achieved so far in the area of economy, above all taking into account the projects for connectivity and gasification of the country. In that vein they welcomed the signing of the Agreement for joint construction of the Interconnector with Greece which was signed by competent ministers on 9 July in Athens, a project that is important not only for the two countries, neighbours, allies, and partners, but for the whole region as well.
Minister Osmani expressed gratitude for the continued Greek support in the process of integration of North Macedonia in the EU, with Minister Dendias voicing assurances that it will not be absent during the Slovenia Presidency with the Council of the EU.
