A delegation of the Republic of North Macedonia, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Zernovski took part in the Ministerial Session of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, held today in Helsinki, Finland. This year’s ministerial session is observing the 70th anniversary of the Treaty of London which created the Council of Europe, the home of all European nations gathered around the values ​​of human rights, democracy and the rule of law. Furthermore, the heads of European diplomats are tackling the current political challenges faced by European democracies as well as the Organization itself.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, signed today the commemorative book opened at the Embassy of Japan in honor of His Majesty Naruhito, Japan’s new Emperor.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, along with His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, attended an event at the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Skopje, organizes as part of the royal visit of His Highness to North Macedonia.

 

Τhe State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Viktor Dimovski and the Secretary General for International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Ioannis Brachos, met today in Thessaloniki.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov continued his working visit to Berlin with taking part in an event co-organized by the parliamentary groups of the Greens and the German section of the Union of European Federalists, whose members include MPs of four political parties – CDU/CSU, Social-Democrats, Greens and Liberals.

The regular meeting of the main Joint Committee for maintenance, renewal and demarcation of the border lines between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania was held on 14 May 2019 in Tirana, the Republic of Albania. The delegations of the two countries were led by State Secretary, Viktor Dimovski and the Secretary General at Albanian Foreign Ministry, Gazmend Barbullushi, respectively.

As part of the on-going activities for the first day of the working visit to Berlin (14 May 2019), the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov held working meetings with Michael Roth, Minister for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office, Jan Hecker PhD, Foreign Policy Advisor to Chancellor Merkel and Metin Hakverdi, member of German Bundestag from SPD.

Political consultations were held in Skopje between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey, led by the State Secretary Viktor Dimovski and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faruk Kaymakcı, respectively.

 

On Monday, 13 May, as of 11.30 AM, the Deputy Minister Andrej Zernovski will participate in the official 20 year celebration of the International Organization for Migration-IOM's mission in this country.  The Republic of North Macedonia became an IOM member in 2014, while prior to that the country had an observer status.

 

Minister Nikola Dimitrov met today (12 May 2019) with the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, who, on behalf of the Greek government, attended the inauguration ceremony of North Macedonia’s President, Stevo Pendarovski.
