Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrej Zhernovski, on 6 August 2018, met with representatives of ODIHR, who are a part of the mission for assessing the need for sending an OSCE/ODIHR observation mission at the upcoming Referendum in Macedonia on 30 September 2018.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, today met with Volkmar Klein, an MP at the German Bundestag from the ruling CDU. Minister Dimitrov expressed particular gratitude for the exceptionally strong and active support of Berlin in the paving of our European path and the start of NATO accession talks and the important role of the German Bundestag in this context. Dimitrov briefed his interlocutor about the current situation in our country, the course of the reform processes and the upcoming steps in the implementation of the Agreement for resolving the bilateral dispute with neighbouring Greece.

Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Macedonia, Ivan Petkov.

 

Today, at the invitation of Karin Kneissl, Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria and current holder of the presidency of the Council of the EU, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, attended the opening ceremony of the prominent Salzburg Festival as a special guest. Apart from Dimitrov, the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic, Andrew Babis and Estonia, Jüri Ratas, as well as the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, were also in attendance.

Deputy Foreign Minister Andrej Zhernovski took part in the ministerial conference to advance religious freedom in Washington, hosted by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

 

On July 16, 2018, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov received the copies of the credentials of the new Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Macedonia, Rachel Galloway.

 

Today, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrej Zernovski, on the first day of his working visit to Washington, held meetings at the White House, the US Congress, and the Atlantic Council of the United States. At the State Department, he attended the reception for the heads of delegations in honour of the opening of the ministerial conference to advance religious freedom, hosted by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

As part of the agenda for the visit of the NATO Delegation, led by James Mackey, Head of the Euro-Atlantic and Global Partnership office at the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division at NATO headquarters in Brussels, a working meeting was held today with a working group composed of experts from the Cabinet of the President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Ministry of Interior Affairs, and the Ministry of Information Technology and Public Administration, headed by Stevo Pendarovski, National NATO Coordinator, who was accompanied by State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Viktor Dimovski.
