Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Poposki received copies of the Letters of Credence of the new Turkish Ambassador to Macedonia, Ömür Sölendil.

At the meeting, Minister Popovski underlined the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, pointing out that the frequency of high-level meetings bears witness to the shared determination of both countries to maintain their positive trend.

 

Minister Poposki also tackled the fruitful cooperation on regional and multilateral level, emphasising the fact that the Republic of Turkey is one of the loudest promoters for the integration of Macedonia into NATO, as one of the strategic foreign-policy priorities of the Republic of Macedonia.

Ambassador Sölendil, on his part, affirmed the high level of cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the principled readiness of the Republic of Turkey to continue with its support for the membership of the Republic of Macedonia in the Euro-Atlantic structures.

 

Interlocutors pleasantly agreed that great progress has been made in the context of economic cooperation, and this year, the Republic of Turkey is among the ten countries with which the Republic of Macedonia has the largest volume of commercial trade, followed by mutual efforts and prospects to further expand and intensify this cooperation.
