Today, the Ambassador of Greece to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Theoharis Lalakos was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he was handed with a letter of protest. The letter of protest was issued due to the last action of the Special Forces of the Greek Army during a joint military exercise with the Army of Cyprus held in July 2014. These forces exclaimed provocative paroles with speech of hatred.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested from the Greek authorities to undertake urgent measures and to condemn these events and tendencies that are not in the spirit of the European values and standards. They also appealed to the Greek authorities to undertake efforts and to prevent these uncivilized acts from reoccurring in future. At today’s meeting, another letter of protest was issued regarding the practice of putting stickers on the Macedonian vehicles and in relation to use of MK code on the registration plates.
