Today, the first Ambassador of New Zealand to the Republic of Macedonia, was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki. At the meeting, interlocutors voiced their satisfaction with the talks that started last year between Ministers Poposki and Murrey McCully in New York and the first unwavering efforts to accredit an Ambassador of New Zealand to the Republic of Macedonia.

The increased interest of New Zealand in the development of relations and visits to the Republic of Macedonia was emphasised on the Ambassador's part. Furthermore, he underlined the trend of business exchange in New Zealand as an economy with one of the strongest agricultural sectors on global level.

Both interlocutors voiced interest to intensify the cooperation in the area of business promotion. New Zealand is regularly seen as one of the leaders according to the World Bank's report "Doing Business, and the Republic of Macedonia is one of the countries with largest improvement in the past few years.

Increased communication is foreseen for the following period aimed at better acquaintance with the possibilities and advantages especially in the sphere of economy and education between the two countries.
