During the event, FM Dimitrov stressed “The opening of accession negotiations with the Republic of North Macedonia offers multiple benefits and opportunities: for the transformation processes at home, for the credibility of the enlargement process, for the future compromises as a driver of positive change and for the inevitability of maturing together and accelerating our pace towards the EU. We need to create a sense of community and take collective action. The stability and the prosperity of the countries in the region are interdependent.”

He noted that as the future co-chair (the first Western Balkan country, along with Bulgaria), the institutions of the Republic of North Macedonia will go their utmost to further affirm the European agenda in the region and its fullness at regional level through practical projects and initiatives of highest importance to the citizens.
