Following yesterday's meetings and activities in Paris, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov continues his European tour today, initially with a working visit to Brussels (10 and 11 September 2019), and subsequently to Berlin (11-13 September 2019). The focus of these meetings, in the key period for the European future of North Macedonia, will be the prospects and steps taken towards a positive decision by the Council of the EU in October.

In Brussels, the Minister is scheduled to attend a working meeting with the Ambassadors of the member states of the European Union (COREPER), where he will present the country's current activities ahead of the Council, remind of the overall achievements of the country in the preceding period and ask for a decision to start accession negotiations. The Minister will also attend an event organized by the German Marshall Fund in Brussels dedicated to the path of the Republic of North Macedonia towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration. He will also meet with senior officials of European institutions, including EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn, and will attend a reception on the occasion of Independence Day - September 8, organized by the diplomatic consular missions of the Republic of North Macedonia in Brussels.

In Berlin, a series of working meetings are planned, including with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, the Minister of State for Europe, Michael Roth and other representatives of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as with a number of Bundestag MPs, with representatives of the Chancellor Angela Merkel's office and other relevant interlocutors. During the visit, Minister Dimitrov is also scheduled to attend a working breakfast organized by the Körber Foundation.
