The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov met today with the newly appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of North Macedonia, Kristin Forsgren Bengtsson who presented the copies of her credentials.

Minister Dimitrov cordially welcomed the Ambassador and wished her success in her post, expressing confidence that the relations between the two friendly countries will continue to develop successfully throughout her term as well. In addition, Minister Dimitrov thanked Sweden for its continuous support for North Macedonia’s EU-integration process. In this regard he conveyed the expectation of increased support from Sweden in the upcoming period so as to receive a positive decision by the Council of the EU in October.

Ambassador Bengtsson voiced satisfaction with the opportunity to personally contribute to the strengthening of the Macedonian-Swedish friendship and to start working in this important period for our country. She reiterated the Swedish Government’s support for continuing with our reform agenda and achieving our strategic goals as soon as possible.
