Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov attended a working breakfast with resident ambassadors of EU member states, organised by the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Renate Kobler, in the capacity as country chairing the Council of the EU.

At the meeting, MFA Dimitrov first thanked Austria for the support and commitment to the European perspectives of the countries from the region during its chairmanship.

Furthermore, he briefed Ambassadors in greater detail on the latest domestic developments, foremost in relation with the process of constitutional amendments in the context of the Prespa Agreement.

At the same time, he presented an overview of the key reform activities, the Plan 18, and the more significant engagements at home regarding commitments that result from the Council of the EU. Additionally, MFA Dimitrov emphasised the commitment and determination to continuing on the path to European integration, despite the delicacy of the processes.

At the meeting, interlocutors exchanged opinions on the state of play in the region, and voiced hope that a formal decision to start accession negotiations for EU membership will be adopted next June.
