The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, met today with MEPs Victor Boştinaru, Tanja Fajon, and Tonino Picula of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, who are paying an official visit to our country.

Talks at the meeting tackled Macedonia's European integration process and the implementation of key reforms, as well as some of the more significant upcoming activities that are a part of the European agenda, and other current issues.

Minister Dimitrov underlined the readiness of the Government for full engagement in the implementation of key reforms with the aim of opening up the path towards receiving a renewed recommendation for opening accession talks as soon as possible, as a step towards the decision to start accession negotiations. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude for the support and the constructive approach of the European Parliament in the process of Macedonia's accession to the EU.

The MEPs reaffirmed the support of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats for furthering and unblocking Macedonia's European integration process by starting accession negotiations. They concurred that the Republic of Macedonia deserves an opportunity to join the European family.

The interlocutors expressed mutual preparedness for dynamic cooperation in order to achieve these goals.
