Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonian and Minister of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Poposki, received copies of credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Macedonia, Laszlo Istvan Dux.

At the meeting, both sides expressed their mutual satisfaction with the positive trend in the development of relations between the two countries in these past few years. Interlocutors underlined the excellent political relations, as well as the shared interest of both countries to further enlarge and deepen mutual economic cooperation. Both sides also reassured that the process of introducing a direct flight between the two capitals will be finalized as soon as possible, which will facilitate business relations between the two countries.

In context of Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, Minister Poposki emphasized that the Government of the Republic of Macedonia highly appreciates the open support and assistance extended by the Hungarian Government to our country in Euro-Atlantic framework. Furthermore, Poposki and Istvan Dux exchanged opinions on the migrant crisis underlining that Hungary has emerged as one of the principal partners of the Republic of Macedonia in tackling the migrant-refugee crisis, preventing migrant smuggling and curbing illegal crossings of the Southern Macedonian border.

Within the meeting, Deputy PM Poposki wished Ambassador Istvan Dux success in his diplomatic mission.
