“Ambassador Orav was fully invested in our cooperation, both in the field of reforms, EU policies and member states as well as in the realization of EU projects in the Republic of Macedonia”, said Poposki.

In reference to the cooperation with the European Union through Ambassador Orav’s mandate, Poposki said: “Future membership of the Republic of Macedonia in the EU is a good channel for guiding our long-term reforms. We will join a Union much different than the one we have today. In the meantime every improvement in the judiciary, increased efficiency in the administration or higher environmental protection, as recognizable EU standards, is more important for us than the membership itself. And to achieve steady progress in such key areas we maintain regular cooperation with European institutions.”

Wishing him continued success in his new mandate, Minister Poposki thanked the Ambassador for his professional engagement as the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia. Furthermore Ambassador Orav was presented with certificate of appreciation for his diplomatic efforts since 2012.
