The III Meeting of Political Directors of Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP) participating countries was held on 24 April, 2013, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the premises of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The RCC Secretary General, Mr. Goran Svilanovic and a representative of the European Union attended the meeting as well.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia welcomes the fact that Belgrade and Priština have accepted the “First Agreement of Principles Governing the Normalization of Relations,” being convinced that the Agreement does not only open a new chapter in the overall relations between the two peoples, but also provides a strong impetus to the overall efforts aimed at closing the open issues in the region and consequently ensuring its stability, further development and full-fledged European integration.

As part of his working visit to Geneva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Poposki, has earlier today had an opportunity to meet with the Ambassadors of the UN member states belonging to the Eastern European Group, as well as with the incumbent President of the UN Human Rights Council, Ambassador Remigiusz Achilles Henczel. The meetings have come as part of the activities aimed at promoting the candidacy of the Republic of Macedonia for membership of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in the period between 2014 and 2016.
